yes mirroring is turned off im just using it as a second screen right now

There is only one option, Digital Cinema Desktop Preview Main, Finalcut wont recognize my monitor for some reason

the display is connected and i can use it as a second screen but i am trying to use my laptop monitor as editing interface and the hd monitor for fullscreen playback but it will not show up under view playback options in the past this worked fine with s video but now that i have a macbook pro with no s video i wanted to get it to work with hdmi
