I notice a couple of years ago you offered PI3 as an upgrade from SE. What’s the chances of that deal rolling around again?

    Thanks,
    Kurt.

    Thanks for your reply, Lorence.

I have opened that folder using “load library”, but there is no library there named “cnv emitters 10 03.iel”, even though I saw and used those emitters right after I installed them yesterday. Maybe it’s there but I’m just “not seeing” it, you know?

I’ll try each emitter one-by-one in Particle View and see if I can find its library that way.

Meantime, I’ll try that software rendering option and see if I need new drivers.

    Thanks again.

    Aah, then that’s very useful!

    Thanks, Alan.

“You’ll probably use the footage in particleIllusion as reference only, then remove it and do your final render of particles alone with alpha, for final compositing in (your NLE).”

That’s interesting, Alan! I had no idea you could do that. I have PI SE. Is that a feature of PI3 only?

    Thanks,
    Kurt.

Well, Phil, my “Hmmmmm” post was merely a response in a thread that had been started by Darren Hilbert, entitled >”Emitters”. You were searching for “Emitters”, yes?

No worries, Alan. Glad to know you’ll still be making emitters in the future.

I might have a go at making some myself while you’re occupied. Could be a lot of fun.

    Cheers,
    Kurt.

Well, looks like I spoke too soon, Darren. Beginning to look like we won’t be getting any more freebies from the gang.

Oh well, all good things must come to an end, sooner or later.

In the past, new libraries have sometimes been released as late as the 18th of the following month, so they’re not “late” yet.

And things have been pretty hectic for the lads this past year, so I guess we just need to bide our time.

Mark, first, add your emitter to the stage, then open Properties. Don’t touch the “tint” tab, just click on the Particles tab, and then click on the “colors” tab.

The bar at the bottom shows the “color over life” of the emitter. Click on one of the sliders, and then click on the color wheel and select the color you want. You may have to click on every silder and change the color each time until the total emitter color is what you want.

Important to do this after you’ve added the emitter to the stage. That way, when you click on “add to library”, you can save your modified emitter in its new colors, without overwriting the original emitter.

    Kurt.
