Hey folks, I know this thread is ages old, but I’m wondering if anyone has an active link to the project mentioned here? When I follow the URL “Ted” posted, it goes to one of those labyrinthian “free” download sites that asks for a credit card number. Fun!

I have some serious 3D photo fly throughs to make, something like 200+ employees in the mix. I know there are a million ways to do this, but I’m looking for the “elegant” solution!

    Thanks a bunch!

Thanks Walter, agreed, it’s not a complicated fix, but for as useful as it would be for generating all kinds of graduated layouts, I figured it may have been buried in the FX list somewhere under some arcane name. One of the community script geniuses might be interested in jotting out a handy script to do just this, with a keyframe-able offset value. Could produce some interesting effects simply.

Ha.. Dave, thanks. I’ve already had the coffee. Much more and I’ll be the only thing getting animated today! It’s a weird mix of good and bad, good artwork, a layout that is nearly a blow by blow guide for what’s needed, and a huge stack of unnamed redundancies. I think I’ll try to slim down a copy of the .ai file as suggested. In this case, creating new documents would almost be adding another layer of redundancy on top of the ones I have yet to remove.

Thanks! (By the way, I used to listen to a “KGRC” radio out of Hannibal MO when I was a tyke. Your signature reminded me of it!)

  • Oh sure, me too, but it’s so far over my head it’s almost below again. I’d have better luck trying to sequence my own DNA than i would coming up with something like this. And that’s really the nature of this stuff. Whole lotta standing on shoulders going on…

  • Michael, thank you so much for this. This is the approach I’ve settled on. I tried the Echospace thing – easy to replicate the grid, not easy to generate a fluid waving motion in the manner I wanted. But this tutorial came as close as I needed to get. Thanks again!

  • Thanks for the replies, folks – I have access to Echospace, so it seems like that will be the way to go. I’ll head in that direction first. Thanks!
