With “resize”, I let the Horizontal at 100% but lower the Vertical to 77%. If you do not want to lose information behind the 4:3 tv plastic frame, I suggest H 88% and V 65% (for 16:9 footage) for a dvd output. It fits for my tv back home.

I don’t know if there is a better way without proper hardware.
