Is there still no way to temporarily disable multiple effects across a timeline?
If so, it’s amazing that this feature hasn’t been added yet.
I’m having the same problem. The music label have come back to me with an alternate version and wish me to re-sync the clip to the new version. But I can’t sync it properly because all the FX make the playback on the timeline slow.
I could really do with a solution to tempoarily disable all the added FX across all clips so I can resync the sound to the alternate and then switch the effects back on again.
Seems to me that is is a perfectly reasonable production task. It will take me hours to disable effects across all clips and then re-enable them later.

Thanks very much for clearing that up.
I didn’t mishear what the guy from Adobe said at the London BVE Adobe stand last week. It surprised me because I always thought that using previews for output are for rough previews only.
When he said he couldn’t think of any reason not to use the rendered previews for final output I was actually considering changing my workflow!
I just assumed something had changed in CS5, which is why I questioned it here.
Thanks again,

I note that one of the user members above stated NOT to use the Premiere Pro CS5 ‘use previews’ option when exporting to final output because the quality is not the same as using export from the master files.
I’ve just attended the BVE expo show in London this week. The Premiere Pro expert that was giving live demonstrations of the Adobe product said there was no reason not to use the ‘use preview’ option when exporting the final render. That the quality is the same as exporting without the previews.
I’m not getting it. Could someone please clarify which is the case? I cannot seem to find any info on this particular point from Adobe documentation.

Did you find a solution to this problem? I am having the same issue.
It only happens when I apply a Boris FX effect. AE doesn’t crash (very often) without the effect applied. It takes several minutes before the effect will crash the program and you don’t have to be working on anything for it to happen… It just crashes out on its own after a certain length of time.

UPDATE – TO HELP OTHERS
I was having the dreaded ‘Media Pending’ problem in Adobe Premiere CS4 and I could not find the solution anywhere on the internet.
This thread is the top google search thread on this problem, so I thought it best to post the solution to my version of this problem here.
I run Windows XP Professional 32-Bit SP4 with all updates. On Adobe Premiere CS4, any render of a JPEG file, or MPV, anything rendered was coming up with ‘Media Pending’… I was tearing my hair out over this because it was working perfectly fine up to recently.
Then I remembered I recently installed 4GB of extra RAM to add to my previous 2GB of RAM, making now 6GB. I thought to change the boot.ini file with extra switches. /3GB and /PAE switch to try and make my system use over the 4GB of RAM. I had forgotten I did this.
After much searching on the internet and finding nothing, I suddenly remembered a post somewhere saying that if you use either of these switches, it may cause some drivers not to work.
I went back to boot.ini and removed the /3GB and /PAE switches and rebooted. Voila! The Media Pending screen is magically gone and I can work again once more. Adobe take note!
If this works for anyone else, let me or this thread know!
