I’ve already tried switching lenses on the cameras. The t2i still looks much better.

So lets say I set the cameras up in the same lighting, and took some video of the same shot using same fps, same iso, and same f-stop. Then I take this footage and open it up in Sony Vegas to compare.

Using what I noticed in SV would I then want to go back to the cameras and adjust the scene settings(maybe to a custom one) and adjust sharpness, saturation, ect. on one camera(t4i) then repeat the recording step?

Then repeat this step until the footage looks satisfactory?

I just purchased this at BnH. Will let you know how it goes. I have magic lantern so I think I should be able to change my start stop recording to whatever button will work with the remote.

WOW, that’s disappointing to know the cost. I don’t have it and did not realize it was so expensive. I was reading up on it though and apparently they have a free student version. They just have to verify my enrollment. I think right now I am more focused on learning to correct colors and getting the correct exposure.

I just always thought that was a neat effect and was curious about doing it.

    Thanks John

Nevermind. I think I am going to play with Cinema 4d for now. I just learned you could use it with SV. My other question though IS
what might my workflow look like to make my text move. I specifically want to make it look like it is falling out of the sky.
    Do I use masking??

An example of the effect is found in this video at 20 seconds:https://vimeo.com/37503215

When I first got my dslr I was shooting at 6o fps since it was the “fastest” that I could shoot with the camera and I wanted to capture as much as I could.

Since then I have dialed it down to 30 or 24 fps but have always left it at 1/120 instead of bumping it down to 1/60 or 1/50. I really really appreciate all of the help guys!! I psyched to see what comes out of the camera next time I get out.

Where did the “x2” rule come from? It seems like shooting a 1/500 would just provide you with a much crisper image of any movement going on in the shot right?

Would using a ND filter instead of CPL filter make much of a difference? I have never used one so I have no idea if it is worth spending the money if I already have the CLP.

BTW I had NO filter on in the video I posted.
