The Ki-Pro is connected directly to the Mac and the Mac is connected to the network.

Wow Thanks! Let’s start with DHCP through the computer.

Hi Jeremy, I’ve tried both ways and neither way is “finding” the Ki-Pro. The LAN light lights up on the Ki-Pro so I know it’s working. I’ve tried both with DHCP address as well as the static address. I’m stumped….

Thanks Jeremy. I thought so. It’s just nice to hear it said. All the best

I feel for you Gary. It seems as though you’ve covered all your bases. It’s a scary scenario! We just purchased a unit and have used it for 2 events thus far. SDI SD signal from portable vision mixer. If I run into any issues I’ll post here. Hope you get to the bottom of the problem. I know how it feels trying to hone in on these problems especially when it’s sporadic. I assume you’ve visibly tagged the unit that stops just to verify that the problem occurs always with the same machine… Keep us all posted if you can. Thanks!

Please keep us posted. We are using the KiPro to record a feed (SD-SDI) from a Datavideo vision mixer. Thanks AJA!

November 8, 2010 at 10:08 pm in reply to: repeated clip names – Panasonic any suggestions? No, I haven’t used the XD Cam at all. Wow, what a nightmare! Hope you get your clips sorted out. I’ll look into those cross field references for our database to see if that could be another possibile solution. Our MAM system also had a hard time dealing with the P2 file structure (audio and video separate) but we were able to overcome that hurdle. For metadata editing (of the P2 material) we have been using HDLog from Imagine Products. Actually we have used Imagine products since the first versions of WinTep came out way back when…But I do love the MXF4mac plug-ins though haven’t used P2 Flow. Their import and export modules have become an integral part of our tapless workflow. Good luck with your current project.

November 8, 2010 at 8:34 pm in reply to: repeated clip names – Panasonic any suggestions?Yes Jeremy, precisely. The MAM program rejects the duplicates. Now, a co-worker of mine today found an automated way of adding another letter to each of the clips and that has solved the problem at least for those duplicated clips generated by different cameras. For example we add an “A” at the head of the Panasonic clip names generated from camera 1, a “B” on those coming from camera 2 and a “C” from camera 3. She found some freeware program that automates these changes. I can get you the name if your interested. Now the IT people have to add room for a 7th character in that field of the database because the programmers created the field with 6 spaces! We’re getting there slowly but surely.

November 7, 2010 at 10:20 am in reply to: Outputing multiple languages simultaneously on DVD?Thanks a million, John, Jerry and Ben! I can’t wait to try the different ideas. As a coincidence we are purchasing a KiPro this week (initially for other reasons). I like the idea of the better video quality since the conference center projects on a big screen (Hall holds 1,200 people). For smaller halls the DVD idea could be a cheaper way to go. So both ideas are very interesting. I’ll post back as soon as I have results to report. Thanks again to you all
