It’s just a full screen background slate for a simple title. So the only other element is text..

Thanks guys. After poking around a bit more I found that perhaps I’m confusing (in the library) creating a gradient from the “generator” category as opposed to the gradient options in the “image units” category. Since I wanted a diagonal gradient I chose the “linear gradient” from the “image units” category. Doing so, I don’t get the options that Jim spoke of. When I create a gradient using the the gradient option in the generator category I can control he colors like I want, but it’s not diagonal! I hate to clutter this forum with dumb questions, but when I look up “image units” in the on line manual “0 results found”.

Thanks for the input. It seems to be working now. I was just wondering: where should Boris FX 8 reside on my hard disk? Should I let it install where it wants to on its own or should it be moved to the FCP plug ins folder?

Hey specialcase. I’m not the original poster but I downloaded the file and at least for me it’s empty – Motion boots but the project looks…well…empty. What am I doing wrong?

OK, I’ll post back when I’m up and running. I am mainly interested in the transitions as other graphics work is done in Motion and AE. At any rate having Boris FX readily available would certainly beef up my FCP. We are holding off on Graffiti for now. Between the simplified version included in FCP for simple titles, and Live Type for more complex graphics we’re satisfied for the time being.

Hi Gary,
We are experiencing that exact problem after years of M100 and Boris. I have just ordered BorisFX8 for FCP over at the Boris online store for $249. I’ll post results when I have them incase you haven’t come up with a better solution in the meantime.

Thanks Jim, I’ll try it now. I am coming over to Motion from Boris where this particular function was an slider option similar to drop shadow, crop, etc.
