For now that will do while I learn the C4D program.

I managed to get it to look like a really thin wedding ring where the angles are more angular than rounded if that makes sense. Is there a way to make it look slightly more like a torus by rounding the edges a bit? Lighting was never my strongest point but I think I got it in a good spot for at least one of the rings.

Again, I really appreciate your advice and help on this. 🙂

I figured that all out after a little Googling and then ending up on Lydia. But thank you for the walkthrough. ☺ I’m sure it will help others also since the forums I initially found were unanswered. I’ve been watching some tutorials and as I learn more about it, I managed to adjust the torus (which is a really weird word btw) to how I want it. I’m sure eventually I’ll get to the part on how to do all that keyframe I intend to do for it.

A question though, do the expressions on AE work the same way on C4D? Can I use the expression on AE for the torus itself to rotate around an object in C4D? I noticed that when adjust the composition of the C4D file in AE, it acts like a 2d layer which defeats the purpose of building it in C4D. I’m trying out different things to see what works and I’m starting to understand the integration little by little.

Thank you for your answer! I appreciate it! You mentioned Cinema 4D is integrated with After Effect. I found it in the effects panel but it says “no cinema 4d file detected”. I haven’t had a chance to look up what I can do to avoid that (just got into work :)), but you did give a clearer path to follow.

I am up for the challenge of learning something new after I get over that first hurdle. And now that I know what the 3d ring is called, it should make things a bit easier to figure out (hopefully). Thanks so much!

I obviously been looking under the wrong keywords since you make it sound so easy compared to this newbie. Now that I have a direction, I can search for those. I’m not sure what a ray trace is but not everyone can be an expert or know where to start to even look. We all gotta start somewhere. Thanks for your somewhat help.
