Thanks
I contacted BMD support and it turns out in my case it was GPU debayering for R3D files being too much for my GPU to handle. Probably not the case in you situation though. -
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but what are the downsides to running a non flashed gtx 680? Are you still able to boot the machine into a different startup disk by holding option, etc?
I have a Mac Pro 4,1 and am trying to take advantage of GPU debayering of red footage but BMD told me I need to upgrade my gtx285.

April 10, 2014 at 6:32 pm in reply to: Davinci Resolve 10: crashes when opening a projectWas a solution for this ever reached? I am having the same issue. I tried importing some of the media in a new project and it also crashes the system. Source is r3d footage from a red scarlet.

So I’ve run into this issue going the other way ( from premiere to FCP 7 ) what I think is the issue is that the audio files from the second system have a different timecode than the video file. The project I was working on, we had a replacement sound guy for a couple of days and he did not jam the timecode between the audio and the camera. On all the scenes he recorded, when I sent the project to FCP the audio would not match up. As far as I can tell, the way premiere and FCP 7 read the timecode information for the linked audio is different.
What you might try doing is exporting all the clips from FCP with the new audio tracks so the audio and video are embedded in the same movie. -
Any advice on what to do with a project I already graded that is at 24 but the source material is at 23.976?

I came across this post in a google search and just wanted to say that factory resetting my unit prolonged seemed to solve the battery life issue.

Hmm. it seems strange that I’m able to color 4K footage from a red one no problem but 5K poses an issues. Would transcoding the footage to 4K prores solve the issue?
-
Hi,
Sorry to dredge up an old thread but I’m having a similar problem with Epic 5K footage transcoded to prores. Any ideas? I’m on resolve 8.2 -
When I convert the video, I select audio passthrough. If I turn off video this isn’t an option.

Also, compressor does a very nice job converting 60p for 24p. I have very little fast movement in the footage (it’s a narrative drama) so I don’t think ghosting will be an issue.
30p is another story entirely however.
