Not sure. Since it’s only on the CRT and Plasma (component outs), I can’t grab it. I may try to take a digital still of it. Thanks for hanging and trying to figure this one out.

Yes, but that is taking the same output of our component output of the Kona LHe. I have to think that it’s a hardware/downconvert problem. I’m just wondering if others have this problem or should I look into getting my card/breakout box repaired.

No, it was actually just text on a Livetype background from an HD sequence, played back via the Kona realtime downconvert, center crop function to our monitors (both plasma and CRT showed the ghosting).

It was more than a few lines…it’s pretty “ghosted/transparent” but is pretty large.

Any thoughts? Can anyone try to replicate it? I’m wondering if it’s an LHe/card issue.

    Thanks.

By the way, new drivers didn’t help. Just tried it.

Bob, we’ve used DVCProHD for a while now and are MORE than happy with it. How do the file sizes compare? This would be the reason we would switch IF the quality was the same: file size, render size, etc.

Walter, did you get a good feel for the Pro422 versus DVCProHD’s quality at NAB?

“From what I’ve been told, FCS Studio 2 is a complete re-write of the software from the ground up”

Walter, I had heard about this for the past 6 months as well. I have a friend who visited Apple and even went as far to say that the new FCP6 team was in a different building altogether. That said, I’m not sure we’ve seen the new build. So far, it looks awfully similar to have had a complete rebuild. That and the fact that they didn’t mention a new rebuild, did they?

I wonder if we’ve seen the rebuilt version yet. Is it possible we won’t see it until Leopard comes out or next year’s?

April 24, 2007 at 8:00 pm in reply to: Kona Settings for Analog Capture

    JeremyG,

I think the “Setup + Setup” is exactly the problem, but I’m not sure where that happened. What is the standard way (if there is one) for capturing analog footage from Beta using LHe? When I put the Kona Control Panel to 7.5 and capture bars in, the levels look raised. I captured 0 and they look correct. However, this is what I did last time and it was wrong when I brought it to a house that was all set for 7.5.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

I’m talking Kona LHe Control Panel setups…not FCP.

FWIW, I used AJA 8 bit Uncompressed in FCP. Nothing there that can change your setup, as far as I know.

    Thanks. Anyone?

    Sorry, Kona LHe.

    Thanks!
