Thanks for the response.
We ended up doing a few things to work around this issue.
As this was the first time we had to integrate P2 footage
with that shot on a Vari-cam, we had a few obstacles to overcome.Transcoding all the P2 DvcPro footage to Avid DNX was part of it.

Thanks for the responses gentlemen.
We have done just that, found someone (after weeks of searching) that did the translation, recorded the v/o and delivered an almost perfect track.
For the time/cost/resources etc… this was the best solution for us.
Wish we had found him months ago!I’m still doing the titling etc, which is fine and we’re moving forward at the normal pace of our english production now.
On a side note: my Spanish teacher will be here every Monday, Wednesday and Friday… LOL!!

I’m with you all the way.
It would appear that we are on the same page here.
Quite aware of the dialect issue, just as the Midwestern
Accent is the most widely accepted US English dialect,
we pay attention to that as well.It would appear, that we have the same workflow for programs created in house.
What we are working on here, is taking broadcast dubs of live shows (superless), transcribing them, translating them and then overdubbing in Spanish. Because it’s broadcast, we have a specific time frame and specific message. Dropped sentences are things like…”ya know, this is the way I cook at home” or “asi es como cocino en mi casa”….. if it doesn’t communicate the message, it goes.
Obviously, as with everything, the client has final say. But, I’ve done enough of these to know what to cut and what to keep.
You never know until you ask. Perhaps someone has a neat little trick that speeds things up. I guess, the only thing that can be done, is being done. Just need talent that don’t screw up as much or allow for more time.
Cheers all around

Simple:
if you’re on an Adrenaline system…. shut down.
Shut down the Adrenaline BOB and wait…. like..90 seconds.
Power up the Adrenaline BOB and fire up your CPU.
Should be gone.
Every once in a while, the Adrenaline needs to be slapped around.
If it doesn’t work, try it a second time…. if that doesn’t work…. I’m sure you’ll re-post.
*SIDE NOTE* This has not happened to me since I upgraded to 3.0.

consolidate clips
copy those clips into new bin in current project
Consolidate those clips
Open bin with Timeline
Select Bin Display – show reference clips…
Check to make sure they are offline
If not…. SHIFT RIGHT CLICK – UNLINK
Change Bin Display BACK
Select the Sequence and RELINK TO CURRENT!

LOL totally frustrating.
I have a project that has been revised so many times, that I just want to start over and re capturing is not an option because so many of the tapes are well….no more.
Thanks for any assistance… should I find a solution… I’ll post it.

You may want to try deleting the Directories…(as I’m doing now)
Exit Avid
Navigate to the drive
Open the media folder (omfi or mxf)
If MXF, open each of the folders within
Find the .MSM files and drag them to the bin
Empty the bin and close the folders
Launch Avid and allow it to rebuild the directoriesShould clear up the issue
Another thing is that if you’re drives are nearly
full, you could have some speed issues.Good luck!
