Using an Adrenaline V 1.6 PAL I am trying to batch capture SDi 1:1 and am repeatedly getting the error message ‘dig vdm overrun’.
I can capture to any other resolution(but don’t want to as the project is an ongoing series all created @1:1 for International distribution).
I have had this error occasionally before and hitting try again or skipping the clip and returning to the offending clip later always worked. But today no joy.
Done the usual dump of data bases, re-booted, checked cables etc…
    Any ideas?

An overrun during capture means that the storage is not taking away the data created by digiting fast enough. Are your drives speced for uncompressed capture? If the drives work correctly only on compressed resolutions, that indicates that your drives and/or the data bus are not fast enough.

The drives are striped LVDs and have been happily digitising 1:1 since before Xmas, so i can’t see that that is now the problem.
    Any other theories?

You may want to try deleting the Directories…(as I’m doing now)

    Exit Avid
    Navigate to the drive
Open the media folder (omfi or mxf)
If MXF, open each of the folders within
Find the .MSM files and drag them to the bin
Empty the bin and close the folders
Launch Avid and allow it to rebuild the directories

    Should clear up the issue

Another thing is that if you’re drives are nearly
full, you could have some speed issues.

    Good luck!
