It was, I saw it. I was posting here to see if anyone else had either seen it or had any comments about it. Adobe is obviously trying to address concerns about a collaborative workflow with this concept.
It seemed like a viable solution to me, at least based on what I saw.

This is over my short head.
Are they running some standard Windows NVIDIA cards (as in not For Mac) with just the correct NVIDIA driver?
One of the posters refers to using a GTX 570, nothing modded.
I have a Quadro 4000 in slave mode, but that’s the made for Mac version.

Perhaps I was a little misleading. You’re right the Adobe booth was not a large booth. Total footprint might have been close to Autodesk, at best, smaller than AJA and BM’s huge booth.
The difference was the fact that the seating area for Adobe was much bigger than all the rest. Maybe four times Autodesk? Significantly larger than the few chairs around BM’s DaVinci Resolve. Adobe’s open theater consumed most of the booth. Plus their design was wide open, so there were a lot of bystanders, not taking up costly booth space.
Interesting choice of booth design, whether intentional or driven by cost. They maximized their space for viewers, spent much less money on booth design (mostly chairs) and needed less floor space than most. Red’s booth next door was at least twice as big, but most of the people standing in between the two booths seemed to be looking at Adobe’s presentations. Red’s presentation was of course in a closed theater with people waiting in line, looking at basically nothing but each other. Either Adobe was very clever, or the Finance guy brought down the budget hammer for this year’s show. Either way, it seemed to work well for them.

The Blackmagic booth was huge. I went back and looked at the show map, it was the largest booth in the hall. Probably at least twice as big as the AJA booth.
Yet the booth always seemed to be fairly full of people during the three days I was there. I’m sure their new Cinema Camera was a big draw. But it wasn’t as if there was some big line of people waiting to see just that camera. The booth traffic seemed spread out with people looking at and talking about just all of their products. I figured the interest would die down after the first day, but it didn’t seem to. I couldn’t quite figure out what the draw was.
Unlike most booths (AJA in comparison) the BM booth was brightly lit. Perhaps so many users spend their days (and nights) in dark rooms they were all simply attracted to the light? A trade show moth effect?

I had the opportunity to meet Bob at NAB this past week.
After reading many of his very informative and colorful posts, I have to say our meeting was not what I was expecting.
I guess I was expecting a colorful discussion, which it wasn’t at all.
I found Bob to be very approachable, pleasant and interested in our discussion. Even though my knowledge level is far below his on the general topic of what I simply call storage.
It’s great to put a face to a name. Or more importantly the full person to a name.

It appears to me that the debate is still ongoing.
At times it does seem to bog down into the same circular discussion. But then there are some discussions that I do find interesting. I suppose this is why this particular forum is so popular. Referring to this place as the the FCP X debate forum seems to be the best descriptive for this place. I’m sure this discussion will continue, even if/after Apple adds/changes FCP X to do everything everyone wants/needs. Even then, I’m sure there will still be opportunity to debate.
Steve I do think you bring up a valid point when it comes to the name of the FCP X Techniques forum. All the other Cow forums (outside of Compressor) don’t add Techniques to the name. The FCP X Techniques forum is really the same as the FCP Forum, or Final Cut Pro at the main Forum level. So I can see changing the name to FCP X Forum at this level and simply Final Cut Pro X at the main Forum level. Same nomenclature as is used for FCP 7 and earlier.
But, that’s just my opinion. Although I can’t imagine anyone disagreeing with me.
