Well, I have tried all the above and it was found to have NO issues with malware/viruses etc…and it has made no difference to either Vegas or my generally sluggish PC.

One thing I have noticed, and forgive me if this has nothing to do with this problem (Computer knowledge 0%) is that Vegas is occupying my “D” Drive and when I hover my cursor over the “D” Drive icon it says = Free space 0 bytes, total size 2.80GB and my “C” Drive says free space 126GB total size 232GB.

Is the lack of space in the “D” Drive causing Vegas to crawl to a halt? Or am I clutching at straws?

    Thanks Guys

No John, as far as I’m aware I have dowloaded/installed nothing of that sort. I will try the virus stuff and see how that goes. Thanks again!

My PC is generally slow these days and I have performed all the usual defragging etc…as described above. After defragging I had over 50% disc space available so My PC aint jammed up with much.

The green bands are not present when played through a HDTV, and they are really hard to pin down in Vegas, sometimes you can see it clearly stretched across sections of the footage and then it disappears, then it gets thinner then it comes back again and I cannot pin it down enough to splice it out. Don’t know about malware etc, is there anything specific you recommend to run through the system to clear it out as a first step to solving the problem?

A video I did just before my problems arose https://www.vimeo.com/8582620 No problems editing the footage accuratly and no green band issues at all, slight jerky preview but nothing to worry me.

    Thanks for the input John

The source footage is m2t from the Canon HV30. the green bands issue can be seen about half way through this video https://www.vimeo.com/9661297 and now vegas wont even perform the most basic function correctly, such as showing text at the start of a video til the time line marker has way passed the text add. even then it’s jerky as hell.

OK, I done a few searches and it’s clear a new card will not make a blind bit of diffrenc as it’s all based on the CPU. So what would anyone recommend on the system I’m using, and will it be exoensive to remedy?

What I don’t understand is it used to work just fine with Vegas (A bit choppy but nothing to make you tear your hair out)

    Regards.
