  • Gotcha,
I guess my original thinking was trying to minimize space used on the DVD for these animations since my main program is an hour and a half and I’ve got a few extra’s..

So, my understanding is that as long as I have a couple of seconds of static buttons in my background animations then I can set the loop point to wherever the animated buttons stop, then I can choose none for the loop # (since there’s no other animation)..

THat’s how I’ve got it set now, will render my lengthened animations then do a test burn..

Thanks again – I REALLY appreciate your time!

  • Honestly, I’m not sure – I think that’s how I had it set originally (without automatically route buttons turned on) but I’ve been in what I call the trapped fly syndrome for a little bit – you know, where the trapped fly keeps banging up against the same window trying to get out when if he just flew the opposite way he’d find an open window? Well, after reading the manual, searching here @ the cow, I wound up just checking different settings.

Since then I’ve basically edited all of the generated menu’s to where they are almost ok.. The Previous button jumps around slightly so I’ll probably edit each of the menu’s in photoshop to get that exactly right, but I really want to know what I did wrong for next time if you know what I mean?

So, I’ll try de-selecting the auto-routing in a separate copy and report back – but that’ll be later tonight..

  • That makes sense…

Yes, that’s what I’m attempting to do: Animated the menu’s appearance and trying to use the loop point to delay the functionality of the buttons until the background video finishes playing…

So it seems like I’ve done most things correctly, with the exception of not leaving enough static menu time so that I can have the loop point set to where the buttons / graphics are static.

Thanks for your time and patience. I think I’m good now – will lengthen my animations by a second for good measure.

  • Yes, that’s what I understood too..

As far as I know I have the button prefixes set correctly:

Thanks for your time on this..

  • Duration is set to 2;14 (the length of the video clip)

I found that I was able to set the loop point to 2;00

If that works I’ll probably have to add a second to the video clip.

Is there some reason I can’t set the loop point to 2;14 or even 2;13 ?

  • Thanks Joe,
No, by ‘in the place’ I mean the physical location on screen.

  • Thanks Jeff,
I’ll give that a shot and will report back what I find.

  • I currently have it set to none but I’ve tried 2 also. Basically I don’t really want it to loop – just play once and go to my static menu..

  • Thanks Jeff,
I’m not able to set the loop point though.. Every time I try it resets to 0.

  • Thanks Joe,
I’ll burn one tonight – of course I’ve already made the opening sequence include the Main Menu’s background video. Of course each time my flow goes back to the main menu I’ll have to add the clip that I was using as the background video…

Anyway, do you think the whole button thing (showing up before it’s supposed to and being active during the video) is due to Encore’s preview … problems?
