That is why I use a DSR-1500A. Componenet and SDI in and out. Oh yeah and firewire. When I get a job that was shot on DVCAM or mini DV I have a preset that allows me to edit uncompressed, but capture firewire. Saves a lot of space. After I am through comping and cutting I print to tape via SDI.
There are a couple of ways that come to mind.
First use a program called virtual Dub. It will do it, and it is one of my goto tools in my box for doing all kinds of things.
Second use a simple multiplex program like AVI Mux. https://www.divx-digest.com/software/avimux.html
Use any at your own risk. Virtual Dub is by far the best, and AVI Mux is the simpleist
That is true, but when you are monkeying with color and other effects you need the 10 bit range to keep the math from falling appart. It is especially noticable when changing the gama curve.
I might have an idea about this. I need a clip to try a couple of things on. Can you capture a 1 sec clip and post it somewhere I can download it. I also need to know exactly what your playback settings for the xena are, as well as the PPro setups.
He already used connect HD and vegas to rough edit from an HDV source, so thats all he will have when he comes in. I may try to download Prospect just in case, but I think this may take longer there may be 13 shows.
