I’m a FCP and a Premiere editor and certainly there are advantages and disadvantages in both programs. However due to the huge configurations available in the PC world it is easy to blame Premiere for a jerky performance. Anyways audio conforming or whatever it is called in premiere pro 2 is a really pain in the *ss no matter what configuration you have.

I think that the space issue is the least important of the annoyances caused by this process. Time is money and “conforming” knows how to spend it. Normally I have 1 or 2 hour projects that take forever to conform and even more when importing videos from remote folders becuase the network traffic is huge due to this. I’ve always edited with premiere and recently with final cut pro 5. Being a PC lover I don’t find a way to excuse adobe for such a drawback in comparison with FC.
