Not enough information. What kind of layer? Is there only one mask on the layer? How did you create the mask? Have you tried deleting it and creating another one?

Are you sure the mask path is closed?

Click to highlight the layer in the timeline. Type “m”. This will show you the mask (or masks) on the layer. To the right of the name of the mask is a drop-down menu that let’s you choose the effect the mask has on the layer: None, Add, Subtract, etc.

The simplest explanation is that the mask is set to None. If not, then obviously something else is going on.

Is the mask mode possibly set to “None?”

    Hello Jay.

I’d just like to point out that as you learn more about AE this is a very useful forum, and that not everyone on this forum is a jerk.

If you really just want the object to move in a circle, and unless I’m misunderstanding, a simpler way would be to just move the anchor point of the orbiting object and then keyframe the rotation. You don’t need a motion path.

The name of the plug-in is “Particular.” It generates “particles” (which could be your bubbles) and it can use a layer as the shape that emits the particles.

It is the first thing that came to mind. There are doubtless other ways to achieve the effect.

Do you have the Particular plug-in, by any chance? That can get you to something like this.

For marketing purposes it just sounds better to say 4K. Who wants to advertise something as “small, but you can make it bigger if you want.”

Also, it helps sell to people who don’t know what vector graphics are, but they know they want 4K resolution.

It’s masking over the clone stamp that’s tripping you up. After you have done the clone stamp, pre-compose the layer and add the mask to the pre-comp.

I see that you have a “Shirt Mask” layer and a “Shirt Mask 2” layer… Discrepancy between those, maybe?
