Thanks everyone for responses – so hard to know – was thinking about getting latest Compressor but it’ s 32-bit(?)

I almost always export a master out of PP CC 2014 as a Pro Res HQ…then also do an export out of PP CC 2014 to a h264 mp4 for vimeo – as ALL of us want the absolute best quality export for all videos, we need to know Adobe or Apple, which is best, or does it matter if they are the same.

Over two forums worth of input now do I have (CC and Apple’s)…it seems about 50% say yes, 50% say no…

So, I left it all in sleep mode last night, and might do it like this: every other day or so shut down totally, every other day leave on sleep…wonder if that’s a compromising solution re: possible wear and tear(?) Don’t know.

Perfect – didn’t know that, it worked, BUT then of course it also slowed down the audio associated with that clip, going from 29.97 to 23.98…but at least I know how to now do that….I take it the frames per second redo only affects the clip in PP CC 2014, NOT the original mov file?

Thanks everyone for helpful replies – so is this what I should do, and just leave everything on but LG 34″ monitor?
Sounds like that’s what most suggest(?)

    Thanks for thoughts

So that’s what I mean … The confusion is about wear/tear on hard drives off and on, over possible issues by virtue of leaving everything on til it drops dead

Still not sure which is best…maybe the question is which is the least bad to do?

Thanks Shane – you’re talking about the OWC 12TB version or what? With what kind of drives, sad or hdd?

so the 675mbs is good for say 4K compressed to pro res 422 HQ edit? But I need twice that you’re saying for real 4K uncompressed edit, correct?

Anybody know how that CineRaid 8TB compares with the OWC and Gtech and Pegasus offerings?

Using latest mac pro, latest Mac OS, latest PP CC 2014.

not sure why, but PP CC 2014 latest takes about 7 or 8 minutes upon start up each time I open this one project until it shows me the videos, both timeline and thumbnails…connected WD hard drive through USB 3.0 on latest 2014 mac pro 8 core 32 GB RAM, weird and not good – please fix asap.
