Was excited to hear about soshare – signed up then here’s what I get on screen

“Sorry, SoShare is currently not supported on your platform. You can preview content and manage bundles, but you’re not able to send or download files.”

What, no mac support – 10.6.8?

    Frustrating

Thanks so much Shane – so actually if I did get a Dreamcolor wouldn’t that kill 2 birds so to speak, I’d have a great display as well as a good color grader? Would I still have to run a cable out of say an intensity pro HDMI card into the Dream Color to grade/color correct or could I trust the monitor as it is, hooked up to my mac pro?

I’ve been using XDcam Browser 2.1 with SONY EX1R with no probs…I’ll be using the PMW-200 soon…can I still use XDcam Browser 2.1 with this camera as well? Or need to get Content Browser? Free version?

Editing with FCP 7 and Premiere Pro CS6….and soon FCP X

  • Both, cost and space – but I’m not locked into it – just saw some edit bay set up 3 years ago with it – it came to me that hey why not – but I couldn’t think of why not, so wanted to ask ya’ll…I do understand the need for a separate box, BM Intensity or Matrox

I guess burn in might be a problem, more so with plasma than regular display for computers but can’t think of any other real issues…But what are everyone’s thoughts? Instead of say an apple 27″ why not a good 50″ panny or LG plasma?

  • Using a plasma as main/only computer monitor as it were, plus for it to monitor FCP material…I saw one studio do this, a few years ago, should’ve asked them how it went…

    Thanks

Thanks for thoughts – so does that BM box take a Tbolt or usb 3 out of iMac then HDMI into say a plasma? Good enough for non-broadcast color grading?

    Thanks

    Hey John

Slightly piggy backing on my original question, but I’ve been reading about how some or many of the 2013 iMac’s are having problems with yellow screens, getting too hot after 4 or 5 hours of editing work, etc…do you find this with your 2013 iMacs?

    Thanks
