I have a Canon HG-10 camcorder that I use to capture long segments. It too has the 2GB file limit. I wrote a program last year to splice together the sequence of files generated by the camera for a given segment. Without splicing, you get frame-dropout which can be very annoying!

I found a discussion at : https://www.dvinfo.net/conf/avchd-format-discussion/113083-canon-vixia-hg10-2gb-file-limit-headache.html which explained the problem. This is also where I first uploaded my “File Joiner” program.

I just built a little Google website today to host my file joiner program and am trying to get the word out to anyone that has this problem. I don’t charge anything for the program, so use it and enjoy! Here’s the link : https://sites.google.com/site/mtsfilejoiner/

If you do find it useful though, please consider throwing a couple of bucks my way at PayPal (thesuperstitions@gmail.com).

I hope that this program helps some of you.

    Ken
