the canon t1i shoots mov files. i have found several programs that can convert mov to avi or whatever, but i dont know what i should be converting them to, and what settings within that program i should be converting them to. mov files tend to bottleneck in vegas. the stuttering is hard to overcome when your editing. When i converted to avi the quality was very low (but it played without stuttering..i guesss thats something)

When I set up a new project I go to properites then the audio tab and browse to the folder I want the audio recorded to. At this point any audio I record goes to that folder (I am using vegas as a studio recording program). However if I close the file and go back into the song at another date any new recorded files go to some catch all folder. I discovered this because my c drive went bad and I reformatted it assuming all the work I had done was on another drive. I now have several partial songs and very upset clients. I never would have imagined you would have to reset the properties each time you edit a project and I hope there is something that needs to be checked in preferences so this isn’t the case
