Robert, could you point to a tutorial on this? I’m having a hell of time getting FS7 rushes into MC, and would love a nice Resolve roundtrip. The only roundtrips I can find start with Avid, which is no use in this case.

That’s funny, I use it on location all the time without ‘the cloud’.
Doesn’t FCP require ‘the cloud’ to get its updates as well?

You’re looking in the wrong menu I think. I have a 550, which is the same video res/quality as a 7D, and it doesn’t have the option to shoot raw (the Canon codec doesn’t allow it I don’t think).
A jpeg is a still image file.
I do recommend downloading this Technicolor picture style though, it’s great for getting good results in post. – https://www.technicolor.com/en/hi/theatrical/visual-post-production/digital-printer-lights/cinestyle – Just install it (follow instructions) and set the camera to use this before shooting.

I don’t really use FCP, especially X, but doesn’t it ‘down-render’ the preview files so that you can get around the timeline/view a full preview before your final render? So, when you’re cutting, it looks less nice, but speeds up the experience, but puts out the image at full quality at output?
I may be totally wrong there.
