So you are saying the SRT or SCC file actually gets embedded in FCPX when you export to ProRes then take that into Compressor. And you only end up with 1 file to create your DVD/BD discs from. About right?

What are your exact steps when you’re ready to export/share/render out the project?

    Thanks.

Thank you. That takes care of broadcast. Now I still need a DVD/BD authoring software that supports CC.

If I select to export the .srt file as a separate file in my Share process, I will end up with two files; my video file and the .srt file.

I have to deliver this CC project not only to Vimeo but to DVD, BD and broadcast TV. What DVD/BD authoring software supports CC? What do I deliver to the TV studio for CC broadcast?

The media is on external RAIDs and copied into the Library on the same RAID. Connected by thunderbolt. RAIDs have performed great for several years now. Only recent change was moving to macOS Mojave and FCPX 10.4.8.

I do have Chrome and have noticed Compressor has problems running with Chrome open. So I do shut it down while running FCPX. Unpredictable behavior and very sluggish…. so true.

    FCPX 10.4.8
    macOS Mojave
    iMac 27, 3.5GHz Intel Core i7, 32GB 1600MHz DDR3

Library and media are on external RAIDS. No issues with any of the 4 external drives, 2 external RAIDs or the Mac Drive. Free space is not an issue. All other Libraries across the system open fine.

Talked with Apple Support and did a bunch of testing. It has now gone up to the next level in Apple Support. Waiting to hear back from them.

Otherwise, it’s a sunny day in SoCA.

I am experiencing the exact same thing with one of my Libraries and all it’s backups. When trying to open any of these, the FCPX interface vanishes. POOF! So I guess I will also have to cal Apple in the morning and have them guide me through all the steps you had to go through.

Also none of the backups from yesterday or from Sunday will open either. Does that mean all that work is GONE! What good is a FCPX backup if it can’t open either?

I still havenʻt gotten a solid answer on my original question. Will Mojave run M$ Word: Mac 2011 and Excel: Mac 2011 as well as Adobe Suite 6.6 (Encore 6.6, Photoshop 6.6, Illustrator 6.6, After Effects 6.6 etc.)?

Iʻm still running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 with FCPX 10.4.6. I canʻt update to FCPX 10.4.7 and Mojave unless all of the above works 100%.

Why Mojave now? Because the latest FCPX version will not work on High Sierra and Catalina has not yet proven itself. There may be issues with moving from High Sierra to Mojave just like there maybe be going to Catalina.
