Hey, I am over 60 years old, recall the “good” old days, been in film all my working life, am working with AVID Adrenalines and still fully functioning. Cut me some slack, will ya?

Joe, thanks for the input. I thought this was going to be simple, but as with most compuetr related things, it is not.
The SONY RDR-GX-355, which is the new version of the one you mentioned, appears to be the right one.

According to what I found, the Pioneer unit does not write to DVD+R. Is this the case? I am interested in a unit that will write to both DVD+/DVD- R. Are you familiar with the SONY DRX 830? Also, I was told that if there is a firewire port that it is bi-directional. Is that true?
