Okay, found it on YouTube. So… new question: If the answer is to “RT CLK > Properties > Media > Alpha Channel”, is there a particular reason it’s so removed from where all the other logically-placed tools are for doing this?

Thanks, John, I will try what you suggest. You’re probably just seeing my frustration coming out in the fact that I’m trying to learn it while being up against deadlines, and so far Vegas is so different in so many ways than I’m used to that it’s hard for me to really “see” those advantages yet.

By the way (speaking of), yesterday I wanted to simply move a video clip a few frames and the whole event got overlayed with those fade/transition spline criss-crosses… love to know what’s going on there, too.

I hope you hear my THANKS, too, because amidst my learning frustrations I definitely don’t want to bite the hands that feed me (helpful information)!

Thanks, John. You’ve been very helpful about this. I do miss good old tape, though, I must say.

Oops, sorry. Twenty-five year habit of referring to “clips” as “clips”!

John, does this mean that if I have a folder with separate CPI files that’s what tells me the info is NOT embedded, or might the info be embedded as well as separate? (Not that this changes anything, but it might help me break bad news to my stressed client).

So, I’ve got the files now and they load and play fine in Vegas10. But, I’ve got client logsheets with timecode information (and they said timecode displayed in the camera as they were shooting), but is there a way to see timecode somehow on my clips?

Not sure (never sure), but I know there’s a new driver (I think it’s 7.9.5). You can always give that a go.

I’m still getting lots of crashes in V10, but I’ve seemed to narrow them down to this: If I add an event to a timeline and then “undo”, Vegas crashes, always. Or if I delete an event from a timeline, and then “undo”, Vegas crashes, always. Is anyone else experiencing this, or knows why this is happening?

BTW, I know about frequent saving and “don’t do that”, but I’d ultimately like to get to a point where I’m not always in “workaround” mode…

That has driven me nuts, too. Since the beginning of time a spacebar press has been a start/stop toggle!
