Thanks for checking in! I was routing video in to the downconverter and the frame store from several different machines and 1 deck on the hub. Same results…

I didn’t get a chance to try a different still on Friday for the store. I’ll try to get to that on Monday AM. If the frame store still doesn’t work for me, I’ll send you the file for testing. The HD video I was routing was just any video playing at the time from a final cut timeline (DVCPRO HD) or the output of an HDcam. All of the FCP machines for this particular test were quads running with the Multibridge Extreme. We only use 1080i 59.94 easy setups btw…

Can you help me out here? I’m playing out of one computer through a DL pro dual. It’s a DVCPRO HD timeline, 1080i. It’s going into the VH. I can route that signal back to my computer or monitor, no problem. When it goes through the dc and the dc is selected I get either black (at the correct frame size – the sony luma recognizes it as 480i) or a quick flash of green noise that is in the correct letterbox shape.

Shane isn’t getting audio through the DC – like what I experienced in the past. Is it possible to get this fixed?

I think it’s on page 18 and 19 of the documentation. You create a file with alpha of the correct dimensions for SD or HD. Drop it in the library/application support/blackmagic/videohub folder/frame store on the VideoHub Server computer. It will then pop up in the list on the interface.

That’s right. I couldn’t get audio with 2.1. Now I get no picture either.

Also, the Frame Store is not working for me. I’ve tried an HD targa and a PSD. The normal video just passes underneith with no overlay. Also, the Frame Store route’s audio is totally distorted. I didn’t create the graphic files myself, so I’m going to have to check them out and make sure everything is cool with them.

I do need these features now (I’ve lived without them for a long time) and the documentation says that they work with 2.2.

Down Converter and Frame Store aren’t working for me with 2.2. Outside of this, no changes to functionallity appear to have changed.

I was thinking about this. I’ll give it a try. Hopefully it will create a cleaner image than the rendered one.

I should have included this in the original post, but thought it would convolute things… We want to create our HD and SD masters for the project at the same time. What I’m getting at is trying to have a DVCPRO HD timeline that has SD and HD bars before program so we can do a simulateous lay back for both masters.

We control the HD deck and put LTC into the digi as external tc and regenerate. The same source video feeding the HD deck is routed through the AJA box or taken from the DC option out of the HD cam.

Yes we are doing center cut (although I’m protesting this move…) We could switch the dip switch on the AJA box and then the bars (which are now HD bars on the timeline) would not get cut off. However, I don’t think the HD bars in fcp would be appropriate for NTSC. I believe that the 0 vs 7.5 IRE thing and the I and Q bars are different for HD bars vs SD.

Your idea for putting bars and tone first is a good one, however, we are trying to lay back an HD and SD master at the same time. I should have included this in the original post, but thought it would convolute things…

We only use drop frame. Our tape stock is blacked and coded drop frame. First thing I assumed was that the editors had messed with their settings and changed the timeline to non drop, but it wasn’t the case.

btw, we’ve seen this both on the HD and SD side.

I haven’t updated yet. Does the CC support let me see if closed captioning exists on something we captured? This was actually a huge problem for us. We would get promo footage from a film and not be able to see if CC was on the footage. Then we would pass this on… If we can suppress CC on capture, that would be huge!

Any other cool updates? Center cut 4:3 downconvert on Decklink Pro HD?

you’re right. it’s only the pro-apps update for the intel book.
