    I am having this same problem with a 2 camera project. I am into it about 15 min and suddenly it’s freezing up and not even leaving the typical recoverable file when restarting, and also not self reporting to Sony about the problem.

    I have solved most trouble before by updating video drivers, so did that but no benefit. I am on latest SVP 13 version, Windows 8.1, and my project isn’t complicated. Also tried renaming and resaving the file as it sits after reopening, no luck. Something is corrupted, can’t proceed. The only thing I can think of is to start over and hope.

    Is anyone else experiencing this, relative to multicamera?

  • Hi all,

    1 second divided by 30 is .033 sec, and 0.19 sec is nearly 6x as big, so that time should contain at least 5 frames. One way I tried to pack lots of short frames into a 5 second TV ad was to string out all the frames in the shortest allowable setup for stills, then rendered that down to a file. I then reopened that file and grabbed the end to time stretch it downward, and I repeated that one more time, but you could repeat that until it was what you wanted.
    I can’t quite imagine what one still could be used for at 1/5 second, but you could alternate some black before and after the still, so it was obvious where to crop it to save as a standalone file. I have since upgraded to Vegas 11 from 10 and I see that the still insert time can be lowered to just one frame if wanted. That would be difficult to control, I think. Anyway here’s a link to what I was describing, a demo for a segment of the ad mentioned (for a non-profit).

    Thomas, Very good that you were able to solve the cause of your freeze problem. I don’t have the same issue, I guess, but do have the same symptom. I have 2 HD tracks along with one track of inserted photos, and 2 tracks for titling and title backgrounds, Sony derived within Vegas. I think my problem relates more to some kind of overload, but never had this before the current version. I have plenty of drive space left and 8 gigs of ram running. Maybe I’ll search for others with this issue, locking up. I can’t be the only one. :{

    I have also just recently updated to Vegas Pro 10e, build 738, 64 bit, running in a Windows 7 (Home Premium) environment. I am suddenly having the same problem as thomas, program locks up and I can’t recover anything since my last save. I did not have this problem before the update. My video is an hour long with multiple tracks, but the length and complexity don’t seem directly related to the freeze, as it was happening since the start of the project and doesn’t get worse or better as it takes on more instructions. This problem mostly seems to occur when I need to redo an edit point, or if I navigate away from a pause point, even just by a few ssecondfs. I get the impression that there’s a data overload, but this type of project was what I was doing regularly and never experienced a lockup/freeze until this version. I am hoping others are experiencing the same thing so that the Vegas team will take a look at it and issue a new update soon. It’s really quite frustrating to lose a chunk of creative effort because I wasn’t saving often enough, and going through the multiple restarts necessary to keep editing.

    Keith
