Thanks, Michael! I’ve not tried saving the settings on an existing sequence so I’ll give that a whirl. I did check the fields issue and all of them said none, which is what you would expect with progressive.

Not quite sure why the one standard-def-created file is having issues though – I can’t put it in the good high def sequence. I may just have to change how I handle the CG on it till I figure something out – or someone comes up with some other ideas I can troubleshoot.

    Thanks again!

    Thanks for reading my message!

I’m going to the standard HD preset for 30 minutes or less on a DVD-5. The standard def one that exhibited similar problems is the regular DVD present for 90 minutes or less, best, anamorphic – that’s interlaced obviously – but I’ve never had this issue pop up with the regular DVD before.

As for how I watch, my Mac and external hard drive are underpowered enough that I cannot watch videos while in FCP on another monitor – so I watch strictly on the FCP canvas. When I checked the files after Compressoring, again it was just the Apple Pro computer monitor, and I could clearly see the first video was AOK while the others had the problem.

I had taken one of these funky files (in an earlier stage of production) and had a blu ray burned off site, and we noticed interlacing problems at that stage, but put it down to the monitor at the studio being set for 1080i as opposed to 720p. Now I know better.

By the way, I had used Inspector on Compressor and it indicated things were still 720 p.

Could my Compressor be on the fritz somehow? I’m Compressoring now the footage I put over top the “good sequence” and but it’s got several hours to go, so I won’t know if this test is successful till later Saturday.

    Flash update!
Reusing the original sequence that yielded the good video has worked! The new files Compressored out just fine.

Could there be some kind of hidden setting that I’m missing on all the other sequences as they all appear the same in the sequence settings window? Is it possible to duplicate a sequence over and over, without using the presets so I could make many copies of the sequence that works rather than keep playing with the single one?
