Hi Brad,

Thanks for the reply, I had made a few posts on the blizzard forums asking players to tell me of any glitches in quality, and they said the same as yourself.

Footage looks perfect in preview window within Vegas, I just dont understand how it looks bad after the render for me. i have friends that render as .mp4 and there videos look great, it just seems to be mine that look awful for me.

I have heard that AMD have dropped or changed some of there codecs within the drivers as of the 12.8 driver (On there forums i found that information) Which does kind of make sense, since i had no issue with the 12.1 drivers. Unfortunately, i have to keep drivers updated due to performance.

I guess ill work it out eventually. As long as i know viewers will be seeing good quality when i start uploading, that puts my mind at rest slightly.

The video should now be ‘public’.
Yes your screenshot looks ok but the screenshot wasnt taken when the charatcer is in motion, at 0:05secs into the clip. in the top left quarter of the screen there is a huge blur on the terrain. Just looked at it on the Girlfriends laptop and is the same as on my desktop.

Ive already tried re-installing Sony Vegas.
Sony support was useless (Expected better to be honest)

Ive done a full re-format of system, the whole machine is clean.
Like i said in a previous post, When i view other peoples videos on youtube they look fine. only mine look terrible #Confused

Also ive never been one to use codec packs, as normally, for me at least, they have only ever caused problems. either straight away or sometime down the line.

AMD (My graphics card) do there own ‘AMD Media Codec package’.
Would it be beneficial for me to download this?

Just uploaded the mp4 clip to youtube, and it looks just as bad.

How can this be a codec issue? when i watch other peoples videos on youtube they look fine? same as dvds etc…

does it look bad to you on youtube? Ive not installed any codec packs or anything, my desktop is completely clean, so how have i got bad codecs if that is the issue?

Hi John,

What do you mean by the source fraps file? I sent you the footage recorded straight out of fraps. and an mp4 render, both at the same resolution and frame rate.

The mp4 clip you have seen looks terrible on my computer, when in motion the screen blurs all over the place, looks darker etc than the original.

I’ve tried using different media players but that was no help either.

Anything else you would like to know please ask 🙂

I will upload some footage first thing tomorrow when i get back from work. And i normally record at 30fps and render at 30fps, even tried recording at 60fps because someone said it would give Vegas more frames to work with, although that didn’t help either.

Forgot to mention that Steve believed it was as an issue with my system. But ive no clue what that could be if im honest, as far as im concerned my system is clean and running perfect.

I also use FRAPS to record my footage. and the raw AVI file from fraps looks perfect.

I do tend to get better results out of .WMV (Although still bad)

ANd .MP4 is dreadful, with gpu enabled its all blurred and well terrible, same with CPU only enabled, but with the extra concern of making the video much darker.

The problem is, when i render (anything) it comes out blurry, ‘Steve Rhoden’ said in my previous post on Vegas Pro 11, it looked like my frames were over lapping i believe he said. (Would have to go back at the post to confirm)

Ive disabled re-sample which didn’t fix it either.
Ive tried every Render option under the sun.
reformat, new copy of windows, 9 types of gpu drivers, turned off my AMD Crossfire, Everything is up to date in windows, hardware is all ok. removed all over-clocks on my system, ive not installed any codec packs. the list goes on…
