Went with the WD Duo Thunderbolt 6TB. It’s going back a week later – defective. Kept having mounting issues only resolution was to keep reformatting. Tech support said bad drive. Back to the drawing board on which drive to purchase…..

I just bought a WD drive you stated and am having a lot of hanging and corrupt media issues. What can you tell me about the problem you found and was there any solution. Wish I’d seen this prior to the purchase. Looks like I might have 6TB of useless storage…

    Thanks,

Which drive did you go with? I have a 4TB pegasus Thunderbolt and an older G-tech 4TB fire wire. I’m going to purchase another 4-8TB Thunderbolt and trying to decide between the 2 brands. The Pegasus has worked great, however, it has never mounted or granted access to more than 3 TB (get info window). Drive utilities checked out everything fine, must be the raid config.

The G-tech fire wire has been great but wow does the new TB connection make it seem archaic……..

  • Jan,

Can you clarify the price of the upgrade of the AG-AC160? It’s on the Panasonic web site as $300. Just got off the listed phone number with the upgrade and they stated $500. What is the correct cost (without shipping)?

    Thanks,

    Karl

Any news of the possible NAB announcement for the 1080/60P update today? Missed the webcast & nothing new on the Panasonic website that I could find.

    Thanks,

The “3 button pressing at once” technique is a pain. Not sure if the instructions are clear. I interpreted it to mean that the update menu would pop up. It doesn’t show up on my first menu screen that appears when using this method. I had to scroll down through the menu to find it.

Updated and now trying to figure out how to get to 1080/60P. That is not showing up as a selectable format in the menu so far…….

I demo’d a 160 back about 6 weeks ago and it did have the 1080/60p. It is nice!
