The tool is Calligraphr (.com). Would love to share the font but apparently I’m not allowed to by CC (tried with an other file extension but nope).

Made a text layer with a lot of footprints. Copied the path from the dashes layer to path text layer and adjusted that path with pen tool for better fitting of the footprints (and added some spaces here and there).

Applied the Typewriter effect and: done!

Hi Filip,

The text on a path was the solution indeed. However, the fonts I found on internet contain portrait footprints. So I used an online tool and a .png file to create my own font containing a landscape footprint.
