  • I had the same problem when I re-opened an old Afx Project.
Afx linked to a non self contained reference file from FCP.
In the meanwhile I had consolidated the FCP project (media manager) and deleted the old footage from the disk.
The problem was that the reference file linked to footage that didn’t exist anymore.
I exported a new reference file from the consolidated FCP project and replaced the old reference file.
Then I reopened Afx, problem solved.

    So for short:
I replaced a reference file that linked to non-existing footage.

I hope this is any help to your problem.

    Hi Rafael,

Thanks for your reaction. I have been testing with both photo-jpeg and jpeg2000 but unfortunately there are some problems accuring that I can’t seem to solve.
Photo-jpeg is slightly greener than the original uncompressed file.
jpeg2000 is much lighter and somehow I don’t seem to be able to adjust the gamma-interpretation of the file (don’t want to use filters for that)

I want a compression method that is visually losless so that I won’t have any trouble with clients claiming that I changed the files.

Is it possible the text layer is somewhere “out of sight”? You could try right click on the text layer, go to “Transform” and select “Center in view”. It should appear in the middle of your screen.
