    I believe this article will answer your question quite thoroughly:

    https://www.peachpit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=2111972&seqNum=18

    In brief, you can save and load RAW settings in Photoshop. Using Bridge you can process multiple photos with the same settings on open. More details in article.

    There is also the quick option to “use previous correction” in the Photoshop open RAW dialog if you know you want to apply the same correction to just a few files without saving the settings.

  • Good to hear. You’re most welcome. It’s a bit different from what you wanted, but without getting into scripting probably the most automated option available.

    You weren’t that far off. The main issue is that javascript uses radians instead of degrees, so you have to convert them to degrees (this is why you were getting figures in such a low range). Then switch a/b to b/a and reverse the slant angle with a minus and you’ll be all set:

    a = content("Rectangle 1").content("Rectangle Path 1").size[1]/2;
    b = content("Rectangle 2").content("Rectangle Path 1").position[0];
    s = -radiansToDegrees(Math.atan(b/a))

    This would do it, applied to a text layer source text

    wait = 15;// how many seconds to wait before starting timer
    timer = time - wait;
    timer = linear(timer,0,59,59,0);
    seconds = Math.ceil(timer).toString();
    if (seconds.length==1) {seconds = "0"+seconds};
    "00:"+seconds

    Sounds like you’re talking about this effect:

    Despite several attempts to understand the objective I fail to do so. Can you do a manual mockup of what you want to happen when one of the shapes moves, two different positions?

  • Note: You can drag any number of files onto the droplet, so you batch as many icons as you want to 72 px in one go with the 72px droplet with original file name plus “_72px” file naming. I noticed the previous post seemed to imply that you can only do one file at a time. What I meant to say is you can only do one size with custom file naming modification this way, number of files is not limited. Three droplets like this with different resize action and different file naming should cover all described resizing needs.

    Edit: Also, the file name of the droplet in the droplet creation dialogue is misleading. Should have changed it to “Resize to 72px PNG”.

  • Hi Rod,

    Droplets are available on Photoshop Windows as well.

    I did some testing. It seems you can only do one of two things this way (without scripting). Either:

    A) Save all three in one go with a predefined name like “icon_72px.png”, “icon_36px.png” and “icon_8px.png” meaning the same exact filenames each time or

    B) Save one file per droplet using droplet naming overrides so that you get “[originalfilename]_72px.png”, but just one file per droplet

    I think B is more useful. I’ve attached an example action with the 72 pixel size.

    Here’s how the create droplet dialogue was set up.

    Here’s the action

    12615_rodsactions.atn.zip

    So you would drag your original file onto the droplet and it will output the 72pixel version with appropriate file naming the output folder of your choosing. I usually have it set up to output to a folder “batch output” on the desktop. Easiest to find that way.

  • Alright, now I remember what this was all about.

    Here’s the text expression, fixed for your purposes:

    //Dynamic Line Break
    txt = value;
    n = 20;
    outStr = "";
    newLine = "";
    splt = txt.split(" ");
    for (i = 0; i < splt.length; i++){
    if ((newLine + " " + splt[i]).length > n){
    if (outStr != "") outStr += "\r";
    outStr += newLine;
    newLine = splt[i];
    }else{
    if (newLine != "") newLine += " ";
    newLine += splt[i];
    }
    }
    if (newLine != ""){
    if (outStr != "") outStr += "\r";
    outStr += newLine;
    }
    outStr;

    //Line Length Measurement
    if (time < 0){
    s = outStr.split("\r");
    txt = "";
    for (i = 0; i < s.length; i++){
    if (time > -10*(i+1)){
    txt = s[i];
    break;
    }
    }
    txt;
    }else{outStr}

    Then you will retrieve the result to the width value of another layer (shape layer rectangle, for instance) with

    myLine = 1;
    L = thisComp.layer("text");
    w = L.sourceRectAtTime(-10*(myLine-1)-5).width;
    [w, content("Rectangle 1").content("Rectangle Path 1").size[1]]

    for the first line

    and iterate the myLine value for each subsequent rectangle. You’ll need as many rectangles as there are lines in the longest possible text you anticipate.

    To get the rectangles to scale from the right spot, move their anchor points to the left edge (if your text is left aligned, that is.)

  • The first issue I see is that the second part of the expression is retrieving the original value of the text layer rather than the result from the first part. So at least that needs to change. Instead of s = value.split("\r"); it would need to be s = outStr.split("\r");

    There might be more that is needed, but that’s the first thing that jumped out at me.

    Edit: Ok, there’s much more that needs to be done… At no point are we retrieving the result of the second part, so there’s a whole third part missing here.
