  • Can’t you apply the same type of animation to the eyes as to the head, just outside the head comp? How are you animating the head turn?

I suspect you need to run waveworld for long enough so that you get to the point where the first waves fully fade out, then manually locate two frames that you can loop between. It would be the time frame within which a wave moves one wavelength’s worth (minus one frame).

The expression selector is not very intuitive. It determines the percentage of how much of a certain effect is applied, so to get a value between white and black you can have black text, add a white color effect to it and use the expression selector to set the percentage of the white color used for each letter on top of the original black, resulting in levels of gray. You would use the result of your set of sampleImage values to determine this percentage depending on character index. The same index would be multiplied by the letter+space pixel width for the x-position of the sampleImage location. Yes, and it is as difficult as it sounds.

You could use a monospaced font and use a single paragraph, and might be able to pull off using sampleImage to color the individual characters with an expression selector-based solution. It would be a rather complex expression, running sampleImage in a loop for the entire image in one layer, but I would imagine that would be faster to run 1000 sampleImage calls in one layer in one expression that than running 1 sampleImage call in 1000 individual layers and expressions.

The black text on the front layer is hidden by the mask. You just animate the mask on the text layer to cover the areas you want shown (or hidden).

If the text is black, there’s no need for anything else but the hand&eraser layer and a black text layer with an animated mask. I’m not sure what you’re using the white text and a track matte layers for, unless you want the text to change to white when it is front of the hand&eraser.

  • The (somewhat obvious) question is, why do you group it? You can’t extrude a revolved object (without expanding it). What are you trying to achieve with this procedure?

I don’t want to get too deeply into this, but for three different file formats you should use three separate droplets. Droplet creation is relatively simple, but getting the output file settings correct is almost always a matter of trial and error. At least for me, because of the ambiguous wording of “override action save commands”. I haven’t done this in a while myself, so I don’t remember exactly what the settings were, but I think there were similar settings to batch processing where you can skip the open dialogue options. But once you got it correct for one, the rest are easy. You do need to drop the files three times, but,set up correctly, they will run unattended for any number of files.

I would suggest UpWork or other similar online freelancer agency. Very easy to hire there, quality varies, but if you pick an expert with good reviews, you should be fine.
