    Chris,

Yes this is correct, it’s only the zoom it powers. I don’t own an ex3 (yet). I have an ex1r, but i want to buy a cam which has a decent wide angle or possibility to put this lens on.

    Jw.

    Chris,

Thnx for your reply. (too bad you don’t get an email when someone replies, is that normal? That would be good and social).

Regarding your reply, i’ve seen this lens on a panasonic ajd 400. I heard that sony and panasonic had/have different mounts for 1/2 inch lenses..maybe not.

There is a way to power the lenses with a cable from d tap to the 12 pin. Also not cheap, but under 100 dollars.

You’re right, fujinon adapter is far from cheap 🙂

I don’t know the mic but is maybe it needs phantom power? Xl1 is some time a go for me.. maybe it is on ‘line’ in stead of ‘mic’? I also know that the two xlr’s on the back are channel 3 and 4.

  • sounds like the button is broken. It switches, but inside it doesn’t. You probably know that by now but I think it needs servicing. I also had the problem with an ex1 rental.

  • i use a de interlace filter of CGM. I believe it doesn’t remove lines but it blurs the ‘stripes’ you see. It takes a lot of render time.

You’re right, it’s a big disadvantage from the ex1. I have the same problem with my ex1r. I didn’t know it was compression (I’m not sure that it is), I always thought it was because of the rolling shutter. My experience: it’s less noticeable in interlaced mode.
