It’s realistic. A gig of RAM gets me by on video editing, but between Cinema 4D and After Effects, I find my computer choked up more and more. I think it’s time for Santa to bring me another gig of RAM. Until then, I’ve just rendered everything out with an alpha and did the backgrounds in AE.

    Thanks.

    Yikes.

8000×8000 pixel map chokes my machine up pretty badly in Photoshop and I haven’t even gotten the thing into C4D…am I missing something here?

    Thanks for the help.

I dug up an old post and read up on rendering. It worked, but C4D gives me both an .avi without an alpha and a matte image sequence. I brought the image sequence and .avi into After Effects and used the sequence as a matte for the alpha channel.

Hope that’s the way to do it unless there’s a better way…

I’ve tried using Zaxwerks and I get the same results. I set up a sphere with the ‘use comp camera’ switched on and it looks 2D. I set up a camera to do a 360 degree pan around the sphere and it’s still 2D.

As for just using the XYZ rotate axis on CC Sphere, that doesn’t really do it either since I’ll still need a camera to move into other parts of the comp.

I was holding off updating the media manager like the prompt kept asking me when I started the program. I just updated the media manager (which took a whopping half second since I don’t use it) and what do you know, the preview window is back up to speed…maybe even faster than previous versions since I can run a clip with color correction at about 19+fps

Gary, when I solo a track, I get the same results….15-20fps from the preview window, up from 10-15fps on a two camera shoot.
