DigiEffects Delirium is the plug-in you’re looking for.

You could always watch Aharon Rabinowitz’ tutorial on how to make an old TV look, this would prepare you well.

You could always find or create a garbage TV bad reception with gray and white lines, and then apply it as a transfer mode of as an alpha matte etc. to make it more real looking.

Here, I searched it for you. Always useful 🙂

For the lines and scratches, I suggest you do them in Photoshop and then animate them. And as for the grain, Noise > Noise effect should do it too.

Magic Bullet version 2.0 offers a lot more.

    Hope that helped!

Wich version of Adobe After Effects do you use?

There are several plug-ins like CameraPov, DigiEffects Delirium and Magic Bullet Suite v. 2.0 that offers what you’re looking for.

You could always look in the COW Arcihives, I’m sure there are many people who asked a similar question before.

  • Wow. Simply, once again; amazing.

So professional and always explaining so well that even a noob in After Effects could understand.

Althought I like every COW Leaders’ tutorials, I don’t want to make anyone jealous but I surely think that these are the greatest tutorials we have on creativecow. I learned a couple of things and I’m very happy with it. Nice sense of humour by the way, *haha*. I laughed a couple of times and everything ended with a big smile on my face.

    I just couldn’t imagine better.

Thank’s alot Aharon one more time for contributing and sharing your knowledge with us 🙂

    Your #1 fan, hell yeah.

  • I have the same processor and the same amount of RAM as you and I never had problems with Zaxwerks Invigorator. So I guess the solution wouldn’t be to buy some RAM Memory.

I suggest you go with mballom’s advice.

    Hope that helped.

You could watch Aharon Rabinowitz’s recent tutorial on the outside edges effect to get a good start.

As for me, I did something similar recently and I used the beam effect and played with the start and end center point and made sure to keyframe the starting and ending thickness.

    Hope that helped 🙂
