Pretty bizarre. Are you talking about analog audio out of the deck? The other solution is to try the HDMI out- this way you could see if it is indeed the firewire causing the sound. Of-course you would need an HDMI TV to test it.

My gut feeling tells me that it’s not a firewire problem because when you digitize via firewire it’s just transferring data from the tape. There’s no major conversion going on.

    Hope this helps.

That did the trick. Everything is snappy after releasing the card and then grabbing it again. Hmm.

    Hi Tom,

I have two JVC HD200’s and know them well. I’m 98 percent sure that the analog outs on your HD 100 act the same as the 200.

Component out can be output from the cam as 720p60 or 1080i (user selectable). Yes, your footage is 720p30 but it’s going to come out as 720p60, but it will look exactly like 720p30. If the IO HD can accept 720p30 then great but I think it’s still going to think and want to lock onto the footage as 720p60 because it is in fact 720p60 coming out of the camera.

BTW- nothing wrong with working with 720p30 at 60 fps- just requires a bit more storage and rendering time.

    Hope this helps.

This is pretty interesting. I have Intensity Pro on an 8 core with 8GB Ram and experience the slow down after 2 hours too.

However, I haven’t actually tested FCP without the card so I can’t say whether it’s BM or FCP.

I just quit FCP and open again and everything becomes snappy again so it hasn’t really been an issue. Just weird.

Well my Intensity Pro does this so I’m sure the Eclipse will do it as well.

Randy- I’m sure the cameras will funtion as promised but your post pretty much refers to the other devices. I bet you would have a better response from the Hi end HD forum where they mostly deal with HD SDI.

    Just a suggestion.

    Best.

  • Yeah, the RCA jack makes me nervous. I’m hoping the hotel has an HD projector so that we can go with component BNC instead.

    Thanks for the reply.

720p60 is the way to go. We broadcast 720p60 (as well as 1080i) in the states. Your client will need the JVC deck or another JVC HD series camera for ingest- currently there is no other option.

  • It appears the problem is related to the Natress Film Effects Demo plug-in. Hmm.
