To be honest Jared, it seems as if you\’ll be waiting for a long time bud, simply because CC just embraced the concept of DSLR\’s and not as a tool for taking digital stills, but rather to produce digital videos. The fact that this forum just started kind of hints at the fact that DSLR\’s were acknowledged on CC because of their capability to shoot hi-res video…I think in the not too distant future they might incorporate photography in the picture (no pun intended) but for now it certainly might not provide you with the help you may want in the time frame you might need it in. Good luck!

i Just got two 320GB internal drives i’m about to convert to a raid, in the meantime i’ve been storing the files on the main 500 GB drive that came with my mac pro, BTW I just took out the additional ram memory, and even though my system now has 8 gigs, final cut still skips the video on the timeline and does not playback in real time and chokes up especially when going over transitions placed in between clips. any suggestions? thanks in advance!

  • I completely agree with Michael in regards to being responsible for the correct audio/video settings, however I am brand new to the world of video editing and Im sure there are good tutorials on how to correctly select system settings and the right audio video settings, if anyone knows of any they can suggest it would be extremely
    helpful, thanks

March 30, 2010 at 12:16 am in reply to: h.264 conversion to ProRes422?

Posting this thread has brought back many results sort of like my internet searches on Google and other sources of info, however what many people forget to mention about the Canon EOS FCP plug-in is that it wont recognize the footage if you try to pull up just the clip, it has to be in the same order it was made in on the compact flash card…too bad for me because i deleted that and just kept the clip…

With that being said, I was wondering if I used Mpeg stream clip to convert, would i be able to compress using the apple prores 422 (proxy) b/c the other prores codecs do not reduce my file size, instead they become bigger, extremely bigger…Please help so i can start cutting my footage on FCP and not end up ripping out my hair!
