Same problem here. Using the CS3 production package the error report pops up every time. I’ve been using it for some time now, but only recenlty this problem appeared.

Does it have anything to do with BIOS settings perhaps or the fact that I’m working with XP 64-bits?

Thanks for your reply. I’m aware of the processing going on in consumer-end HD monitors. A collegae of mine pointed out there should be monitors around with the ability to shut off the processing…. Dunno if this provides a good reference for colour though…

Do you know if there is any advantage in using HD monitors (consumer-end or professional) for monitoring HD footage instead of using a SD monitor for donwscaled HD footage by the way? This question keeps nagging in back of my mind when having to choose between the HD Extreme or the Studio…

Hi Bob,

I suppose the € 300 / $ 300 difference(seems to be the same calculation in the Netherlands) is down to 3Gb, HDMI, HD-SDI 2k and 4:4:4 processing.

I suppose the 4:4:4 processing allows for better quality previewing when using an HD monitor with HD-SDI in.

I’m guessing the 2K support is for exporting, not for previewing purposses.

I’m considering buying the decklink studio or the decklink HD extreme. I just bought an SD monitor with component videoboard for previewing purposses of MXF HD footage. (downscalable to SD by the deckink) I suppose this is enough when adjusting colour etc.

I might start using HD previewing in the near future, so I’m not sure as to if I should buy the studio or the hd extreme. Any advice?

Hello Jan,

Reading the replies about the problems concerning the HVX200, I’d like to ask you a question. Although it’s not so much a audio-related issue, as it is a technical issue.

Shooting in P2-mode, the image breaks up about every 7 seconds. (scrambled image) It’s only for a few frames, but it does it about every 7 secs. At the same time, the audiochannel swing out to the max. level, giving a short noise, as if a TV channel is off the air. (now what I mean?) After trying starting up for a few times over, this notification pops up: SYSTEM ERROR REC RAM OVERFLOW.

After that, it’s back to the same story again.

Could you help me out?
