I never directly upload, just my thing. And using QT7 is quicker and easier to do than Compressor, at least it feels like it is. May look into compressor again, but open with QT7 and convert. Only thing that slows me down is changing my settings.

can i use those ‘droplets’ in QT7, or does this mean using compressor as my converter?
And thanks 🙂

I’m guessing angles is in multicam.
Personally what I do is reduce each clip to 50% and sit them side by side. I then watch the interview and decide which angle to keep.
At the end return them to 100% and centred.

in fact, very much yes please. I think I think that after other things too though can’t remember at the moment. It just seems bizarre that it prioritises the past in terms of the edit rather than what is coming up and I, at least, am focussing on next.

Haha, maybe, but it works for me really well 🙂
I’m sure when I have the time and headspace I will revisit the multi cam and see, but for now I’d just like to lock/protect my audio track 🙂
And I grade before the cut so everything is already graded, but the above you described does sound very good for after the fact tweaks. So sure, one day i shall have a look 🙂

Cheers, perhaps at some point I will revisit the multi cam in X but the only time I tried it it just felt like it was handcuffing the way I like to cut multi cam, so I do it my way, which tends to give me total freedom and allows my mind to focus on the edit.
Just didn’t enjoy the multi-cam when I tried it.

Actually I resize the clips so that they are 40% each and place them around the window so I can see each of them. After I have made my cuts, say in a 6 minute piece, I delete the unwanted angles then put them all back to 100% size with copy paste attributes.
it’s how I used to edit 6 camera music live sessions before decent multi cam was around, and when multi cam came i found it cumbersome compared to my method because my method simply worked for how my mind works with editing. it also allowed me to grade all the shots from a single camera easily (as they were on a single track back in 7) and generally made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
As for the track locking, I simply want to lock a secondary storyline so that the cut tool, which can cut through all tracks at once (lanes, whatever, they are tracks with a different dance move), doesn’t cut the track I lock, the audio track in this case.
Again, not a huge deal but I just don’t get why it can’t be added, especially if the audio clip (or video clips if you need) are in a self contained secondary storyline (track).
And thanks for the workaround ideas but neither would be practical for my needs. I may well have not explained what I do very clearly though. it is always clearer in one’s head than through the words one uses to describe what is in one’s head 🙂

yep, that’s why it confused me. though a bit more adventurousness on my behalf and I may have figured it ou for myself 🙂 Still, cheers and all good now 🙂

ah, got it now. Basically it confused me first off as it only highlights with the yellow on one or the other clips, whereas my assumption would have been that both sides were highlighted, but it does indeed work as I wish, so griping about the UI representation of the process is a tad picky.
Many thanks, it’s a feature I have been wanting from the off so great I now know how to use it and it works as wanted 🙂
Thanks for your time Andy, appreciated.

probably misunderstanding how you mean because when i do it it just deletes both the clips!
