I think that it will be less hard to use color correction to desaturate the makeup (if that works for you) rather than rotoscoping.
Draw masks around the lips and (a second mask) for the eyes, duplicate the layers so you have a layer with only the mouth (since everything else is outside the masks) and another with only the eyes, and apply color correction only to the hues of the lipstick and the eyeliners, so they aren’t that prominent.

Qmaster preference pane doesn’t work, so it has to be configured through the terminal. Otherwise, it works fine. If you use AJA IO HD, it’s now discontinued and apparently, it losses video and audio sync with Mavericks.

Done, I’ve selected all paths, unselected those I’ve wanted to keep and deleted the rest (ie, those inside)

[Al LeVine] ” Qmaster was working for me… i’ll give it another try though. What error were you getting?”

Well, my system is in Spanish, so it’s

    Error en las preferencias

No se ha podido cargar el panel de preferencias Apple Qmaster.

    Which should translate to

    Preference error

Apple Qmaster’s preference panel couldn’t be loaded

Which isn’t likely the exact way it’s described in English. Maybe it’s something with the preferences and there is a way to work it out, trashing something? I’ll have to check that.

Qmaster doesn’t seem to work. It can’t be accessed from the system preferences pane and Compressor 3 can’t encode through it.

Is DVDSP working fine as well?

If you have FCP, you probably have Motion 4. While I don’t recall of the top of my head, Motion 4 probably has quite a few lens flare presets. Why don’t you give it a go? If you can keep it simple, it might not be too daunting.

Apparently the $2999 machine can be configured with 6 and 8 cores cpus, so I guess it works for people who thinks the entry levels gpus are good enough for them but they want the additional cores

Can they open them with quicktime? IIRC, the prores codecs for windows have to be downloaded separately. There are somewhere in Apple.com
