    Paul,

I’m having the exact same issues running the same setup as you are: A mac pro running both windows and osx, decklink hd extreme 3d, aja hdp2 and hp dreamcolor monitor. I know it used to work when i just bought the kit. Now when i open up after effects (i’m more of an online guy) set my project to 32 bit, add solid, slap on the gradient and output results in…. BANDING! D&mm!t! Not what i invested in… No 10 bit output on my dreamcolor.

Also i’ve contacted my hardware supplier who run the same setup, they too had the same result. Again, works fine in fcp7. They were to investigate, have yet to hear from them.

    Also contacted blackmagic, no reply…

    I feel lost here… no-one seems to care 🙁

    Hi Andreas,

Yes i have. My comp is set to 16 bit, tried 32 bit too for the sakes of it, just won’t work. The output settings of ae are correct too. (10bit 1080i and all) The same problem exists in Nuke and Resolve. My guess something went wrong with the drivers, these programs call the same set of instructions. FCP7 probably does not.

    To give a clear picture:
I run a Mac Pro Nehalem, 8 core, snow leopard/windows7, with a geforce gt120 and a (dedicated) geforce gtx256. My blackmagic card is connected with the aja hdp2 via sdi and that’s connected via hdmi to my dreamcolor display.

Again, the store that sold me the kit experiences the exact same problems on a different (but very similar) set. Thankfully they are very helpful but have been unable to streighten this out. Also when i just got the kit it did work (and i was very happy), so i almost certainly know it must be some change in software/drivers/things along the line.

    Cheers!

2 gigs per thread is generally a good rule. Remember: don’t buy your ram from apple either! Unless you have too much money and need to get rid of it.

This should be a feature by now. Come on Adobe! Make this work! I struggle with this all the time. Buying a $44 script is not really what we need here. Please just make it so that you can see image sequences properly when importing.

    Thanks
