I did try another, more expensive Edirol video mixer, but it did not allow me the ease of use or versatility of the V-8 in terms of mixing, key effects, etc. I think it was targeted very specifically for conference set-ups and not so useful for theater work. I’m looking into the solutions you advised, though I am guessing they are way beyond the budget of the theater company. Also, how do you control the Spyder? Through PC+software? No Mac support? 🙂

The video projections are behind the actors, so it is mildly noticeable. There is no audio (the actors don’t have microphones). I have narrowed it down to the cameras HD-SD conversion, length of cables, and the V-8 and video projectors processing times all added up.

I’m a Mac user, so I’ll look into this.

Definetely. I haven’t even yet tried the Vanishint Point feature, but just using a photo of my wall as a 3D object in AE and layering the videos on top is producing wonderful results.

Thanks for the tip, but I’m having a hard time figuring out how that would work. For example, how would I go about setting 4 tracking points that always remain in the frame?

Would you mind breaking it up a little more for me?

Today the preview window went offscreen again, I unlocked the Windows taskbar, and the preview window magically came back. I’m posting it here should anyone encounter the same problem.

And disappear it did… This is probably the most stupid thing that has ever happened to me while working with video editing sofware.

Not only does changing or resetting the work space not solve the issue, as everytime I click the preview button the window reappers higher and higher, so it’s bound to disappear eventually…

I am baffled…

Hmm, a small update. I applied a Color Key effect pointing to white on that last Comp and it seems to work… But I get the feeling that this isn’t the right way to do it. It feels like I’m complicating.
