steve, am i correct in saying that i can only add 1 additional sata drive in a G5(w/o a 3rd party card) and if i wanted to have more than 2 sata drives, i will need to purchase an additional card to run the extra drives? thanks!

thanks for the info! a little confused. so w/ an hdlink, i can go dvi into the dell but where would i connect the other end? an ati x800 has dvi and vga connections. does that mean in order to use the hdlink, i would need to also purchase an additional card such as the decklink hd?
is there a way of monitoring HD footage from an hvx the way we do w/ dv cameras or is it too early to say? thanks!

great! thanks for the feedback! good to know since i will be working w/ dvcpro-hd footage in the near future…so i’ll benefit from a bigger drive.

uwe, i work w/ 2 21″ crt monitors so it looks like i may need a bigger tablet. which is the A4 and the A5? i’m confused. you think the A5 is good enough or will i benefit from an A4? Note: i will also be doing roto/paint work w/ commotion, possibly silhouette roto or curious gfx. thanks again!

how does the bella keyboard jog/shuttle compare to the contour shuttle? i know the contour has extra buttons, but i’m really considering the bella because of your recommendation and would like to keep my already cluttered desk to a minimum. thanks…

ok, i’m looking to get involved w/ rotoscoping in w/in the next few months so i’m ready to purchase. which is the best rotoscoping app to get between curious gfx and silhoutte roto? thanks a bunch!

well, it seems like sorenson and compression master are important for what they do. sorenson squeeze for creating quicktime compression such as those movie trailers at apple.com and compression master for encoding better mpeg4 and real content. i’m not hard for cash right now so looks like i will be going w/ sorenson squeeze and will wait for compression master to update to 3.1. that way i’ll have the best of both worlds…thanks again!
