I agree with all that has been said above, it really depends on what you need it for and your workflow. Personally I shoot a lot of narrative short films and love the look the 5d gives me and the dynamic range from the hack. However the C100 is very easy to use if you need to make quick adjustments on the fly.

Hi Pat,
I’m currently looking into this myself and so far the monitoring isn’t great i.e it’s back and white and doesn’t seem to be played back at the full frame rate but you can check back what you have filmed within the magic lantern menus. When you go into the raw settings on the video tab there is a playback setting.
kind regards

We’ve been using Indiegogo. But if our campaign goes south I may switch over. Did you see the page here? https://igg.me/at/filmfest/x/24972

Cheers for your input Peter.
Fixing the shooting time problem would have opened up new possibilities especially if I were to start filming events. I’m looking at new cameras now. Enjoying the footage from the new Black Magic Cinema Camera.
Thanks everyone

Hi Don
Thanks for your reply. I’ve solved the problem. The footage needed to be resolved in the camera. It’s a pesky function and seems to occur when the battery runs out during filming.

Thanks for your reply Craig,
Those were some of the very last things we tried. Pretty certain we have a faulty camera on our hands here now. Back to the hire company.

Provided these motocross shoots are during the day you should have no problem on the t2i. The others are right, a camcorder will serve much better but we don’t all have the funds.
Don’t worry about a new lens its how you use what you have (yes a 28mm prime will give you a nicer image but it doesn’t make the slightest difference to the settings you need to use). You would need to lower the aperture to something beyond 16 to get a wide enough depth of field to keep things in focus and I assume being fast paced you need to have almost infinite depth. Then of course coupled with cranking up the shutter speed you loose more light. This only leaves you with the t2i’s iso sensitivity to compensate for the light loss. The t2i will give you some serious grain anywhere beyond 400 but like I said on a day shoot this will be no problem.Click to view my video production company or visit our company facebook page.

‘I don’t think they share the same vision than many of our customers.’
I have to agree with you on that one. If they truly had us in mind they wouldn’t have bothered messing around creating things like magnetic timelines and keyword searching and stuck to what was important to us. I have yet to find out if these are useful intuitive additions but It still shows apple doing what they normally do…think about number 1.
