I was referring to the flare that is animating the stroke. It was done with optical flares. It just annoys me how there are those circular light lines that kind of wash out the black ness and stuff

This may sound silly but ae might have a problem with the symbols and what not in the file name. Try renaming it without the “-” or the “()”

Another question, why not just use the original file from your t3i? Then convert the exported footage from ae to your prores format

Oh thank god I got it! I guess I needed to get an update. Problem was that the update was incredibly hard to find on the video copilot website. For those who need it, or are having similar problems, the update is here: https://www.videocopilot.net/support/updates/#twitch

p.s. this is for ae cs6

Yes thankyou. I tried reducing the brush spacing but there were still obvious individual circles. Smooth function worked perfectly. THanks!

Ok thanks. I think that is kind of what I did. I tracked the footage and then put an adjustment layer on top of that with the “write-on” effect set to reveal the original with the brush position pickwhipped to the tracking data. Then I precomposed all of that, keyed out the black and then put it on top of a black and white version. My only problem now is that I need to smooth out the keyframes, otherwise I’m left with just a bunch of dots when the “eraser” moves fast. Any way to fix this? I tried selecting the keyframes and choosing “rove across time” but that messes up the sync of the object and the effect…
