<p>Thanks for replying &#8211; and so sorry to leave you hanging! I got taken off the project where I was tracking this knife, and had to deal with a stack of other things, and now I&#8217;m back on it. </p>
<p>We don&#8217;t have any stock footage like that &#8211; but the problem is basically the same as the one outlined here at around 6:37 &#8211; </p>

<p>Dr. Stupid over here needs some tracking / remove / clean plate advice.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m  getting a lot better with tracking, but my clean plates are still  sliding around. I&#8217;m attaching a screenshot to let you see what all I&#8217;m  dealing with in this shot. The piece is shot in sort of a verite style,  so the camera moves around a bit.</p>

<p>Thanks for your response! It actually turned out to be two things: 1. I found that there was an overlapping occlusion mask right over the object I was removing, and 2. turning off &#8220;perspective&#8221; on my floor and wall tracks got the planar movement under control.</p>

<p>I&#8217;m having trouble removing objects from a shot (I&#8217;m in Mocha Pro hosted in After Effects 2023).</p>
<p>I  think I&#8217;m following the steps right: 1. track and mask occlusions, 2.  track the object to be removed, 3. track the floor and then the wall, 4.  render from the remove module.</p>
<p>Even with a clean plate, literally nothing happens &#8211; no inserted&hellip;</p>

<p>I&#8217;m actually not allowed to post it &#8211; BUT &#8211; the issue turned out to be a mesh expansion issue after all. I had it at the default value &#8211; the object being puppeted in the original clip has some movement of its own, and the mesh was getting confused about what was inside and what was outside. I set the expansion to 72 and that gave&hellip;</p>

<p>I&#8217;m trying to apply puppet pins to an object that has a simple mask around it. When I move the pins to animate the object, part of it will bend with the pin, while a shard of it stays behind where it was</p>

<p>Dealing with another issue using the remove module in Mocha Pro, in After Effects.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a short clip (88 frames) so I was able to do it with one clean plate on the first frame, and one on the last.</p>
<p>The  area inside the removed object&#8217;s mask slides around &#8211; it&#8217;s a rug with a  pattern so the movement is pretty obvious. Could this be an issue&hellip;</p>

Seems that the original background track was the issue &#8211; the area getting tracked was not underneath the object being removed. I think that&#8217;s what it meant by &#8220;no active layers&#8221;?</p>

<p>I&#8217;m having trouble trying to remove an object from a shot &#8211; using the remove module in Mocha Pro, in After Effects. I think I&#8217;m following the tutorials properly: 1. track the object to be removed, 2. track an object that moves in front of it, 3. track the background, 4. make a clean plate in photoshop, and 5. back to Mocha. </p>
